After the Festival

Cover from the 1977 April Asimov Magazine... This was a serialized short story, called After the Festival...which later became George R.R. Martin's first book, called Dying of the Light...

Vinnie could not remember where this went...and I assumed it was lost in time... and 5 years later, it just randomly came up in my conversation with the daughter of another illustrator (Paul Lehr) and I could not believe my luck she was willing to sell... Paul was gifted this by Vinnie in a trade in the late 1970s apparently.
