Aquaman Commission

This was a fun one to work on! it's rare that I get commissioned to draw a male character. It was specifically requested that I draw the new Justice League movie version, played by Jason Mamoa. I'll be the first to admit that likenesses are not my forte, but his eyebrows with the scar definitely help as they're an outstanding feature.

The tattoos were hard to figure out just because it was a challenge to get a clear picture of what exactly was going on there. lol.

I worked on colouring in layers, first I did his skin tones, then put the tattoos on top and added highlights with coloured pencil at the end. I chose to stick to Warm & Toner grey copic markers for the most part, with just a hint of colour as any movie shots that I saw in the trailers (worked on this before the release of Justice League) are more desaturated, especially when we see Aquaman in his element, it's colder, grey & gloomy, so I tried to portray a bit of that in the commission.

This was primarily coloured with copic marker & lots of fun was had. :)
