Description

Boston Bruins original newspaper art work 4/21/1969. This 15" x 11" original pen/ink art work was probably for the Boston Herald by Vic Johnson. He was the political and sports cartoonist for the Boston Herald. He gave the Red Sox, in the long interval between their pennants of 1946 and 1967 the nickname "The Little Rich Kids"--although his work addressed all aspects of Boston sports, his greatest emphasis was reserved for the Red Sox. This piece --features drawings of Bobby Orr, Gerry Cheevers, Derek "Turk" Sanderson. Ed Westfall , Garnett Bailey, Roger Vachon, Bobby Hull--this appears to be the pictorial cartoon of the previous night's game with the Bruins beating Montreal 3-2---has various notes and comments on the bottom.
