Description

Once again I had the absolute honor and pleasure of catching up with George Perez at the 2003 Madison Square Garden Show. As always I was in awe of George and the "fanboy" definitely was showing. What was also nice about this show was that I got to meet George's wife Carol who was such a sweetheart. It was great talking with both of them and wonderful to meet the woman behind all of George's great shirts! This time around I really couldn't decide who I wanted to get from George; He was only doing head shots that day so I wanted to get some one who really had a distinctive look from the shoulders up. I love George's Justice League run so I figured I would get someone from that time period of the book and the JLA's emerald curmudgeon quickly came to mind. Initially George wanted to do it as a profile because he felt Ollie�s signature hat wouldn�t come across otherwise; I explained to him that I really wasn�t a big fan of profile sketches and he said �No problem! I�ll try my best and do it straight on�. I never doubted him for a second because as you can see he masterfully pulled it off and proved as always that he is one of the greatest artists of all time (The greatest in my opinion!). Thanks George and Carol for a great day filled with wonderful conversation! And thanks for the sketch George! As usual you did not disappoint!
