Description
Update: I loved this drawing before and I love it even more now that Bob Almond has inked it.

From 2015: The Board of Directors for the Yancy Street Preservation Society has long recognized the pressing need to re-visit the very first appearance of the Thing from November 1961. As Chuck Berry once said, "We've got to do our alma mater. We must do our alma mater". I take those words to heart. Strange Tales, Marvel Two in One, and this gallery of themed artwork are only possible because of Fantastic Four #1 and the genius of Lee, Kirby, Klein, Goldberg and Simek. I stand on the shoulders of giants who (a-hem) let there be rock.

Artist Eric Koda continues to delight and amaze with his creativity and approach. In this drawing, we are looking THROUGH the Invisible Girl at the early, post-crash moments when cosmic rays are transforming our group of wayward astronauts into the FF. I particularly love his version of the 'mudball' Thing. Contact Eric Koda via his DeviantArt page.

This is really nice. I'm happy to see Bob's inks have enhanced the pencils.
