DescriptionA very nice Bronze Age (1979) Conan the Barbarian #101 page, which was penciled by the great John Buscema, and inked by Ernie Chan, from the story titled: "The Devil Has Many Legs!" This nice page features Conan being captured by the fierce Bamula tribe! Bronze Age Marvel pages are getting increasingly hard to find, so far I've only located two more pages from #101 - and God knows where the cover is located.I do appreciate pieces illustrating different emotions, and note how this single page succeeds in illustrating hate - or natural foes (Conan vs. Yoruba) - contrasted to love and admiration (Yoruba and his wife). Furthermore I love the first panel - I feel exactly like that rainy Monday mornings - Buscema/Chan really nailed Conan's troubled expression in that panel, which furthermore was signed by Chan. To me Conan the Barbarian #101 to #112 contained several magic tales - right up there with the very best Barry Smith Conan the Barbarian books. As a child, Conan the Barbarian #101 was the first Conan book I read, thus this is nostalgia as pure as it comes. With this page I'm happy to represent John Buscema and Ernie Chan in my collection - and of course this page would not be much without Roy Thomas' great writing, and I greatly appreciate Joe Rosen hand-drawing all the letters. Thus this is not just a page, it's the artistic end product of a great teamwork. Social/Sharing |

Beautiful page, and I agree that first panel is a little gem!
