Description
"WORDS VS. BULLETS" -- Love all 4 panels of this strip!

In 1939, the Associated Press hired Frank Robbins to take over the aviation strip SCORCHY SMITH which he drew until 1944. Robbins then created Johnny Hazard in 1944 and worked on it for more than three decades until it ended in 1977.

Beautiful strip, where Caniff's influence is quite clear, but Robbins' own style was coming out. The last panel is just great!

Excellent!  Robbins' strip work was totally underrated.
