Nicolas Delort - Where the Wild Things Are. Quite simply. this is a masterpiece of the claybord medium. Delort caught my eye a few years ago with a handful of meticulously detailed works including this piece. I've watched as his work and fan base have grown, but this scene of roiled atmosphere always struck me. It's serves as a testament to humanity's small place in the vast overwhelming power of nature. Delort's exquisite linework and scratching technique is on spectacular display in the swirl of ocean and storm clouds. Expertly composed and contrasted, I would argue it easily rests among his finest works. Brilliant.
