I spotted this piece on the preview wall for the 2018 Heroes Convention annual art auction and was blown away. The piece is so well done, with such great composition, color and execution I almost didn't believe it was done by hand. It was so great I was sure there had to be some digital manipulation present. So, I sought out Dave Guertin at his booth at the convention and talked it over with him. It's all by hand, and totally legit. Pencil, Marker, Colored Pencil, Aryclic....and a heaping pile of AHHH-MAY-ZING!!!!

Featuring an insane-looking Joker, Batman is nestled into the Joker's coat, and in the background Dave included Harley, Ivy, Mister Freeze and Scarecrow. It's a masterwork of design.

I set my sights on it at the Saturday Night Art Auction and was THRILLED I was able to take it home.

It's tremendous in hand and a very large 13"x19". I can't wait to see what the guys at CreatureBox will come up with next.

CreatureBox is the brainchild of Dave Guertin and Greg Baldwin, who are long-time vets of the video game illustration/artwork field. I spoke with Dave and he mentioned being with Insomniac Games for 18 years. CreatureBox is their foray into the field of comic books, which is another one of their passions. http://creaturebox.com/

Totally insane protrait of the Joker by Dave Guertin. I don't think I've ever seen a Joker who was so clearly bonkers! Love the subtle addition of images of Batman in Joker's clothing and Mr Freeze and Harley in the red wall banner! What a fabulous pick-up!
