Description

I thought I'd post another prelim tonight, again showing an unused concept for the cover. This one is by artist Ed Emshwiller, and is a prelim to "Adept's Gambit" by Fritz Leiber, which appeared in the May 1964 issue of Fantastic Stories. So you can see how it compared to the finished piece (which obviously is a totally different concept), I'm showing the magazine as well. This was one of Leiber's tales of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, who are featured a little more prominently on the prelim than on the final cover.
