This is the original painting published as the paperback cover to the vintage novel, Isle For a Stranger by Dorothy Mackie Low, in 1968. The model Lesser used for this piece was French actress Brigitte Bardot, once considered the world's most beautiful woman, from a still from the Bardot film La Vérité, dubbed into English as "The Truth".

Bardot had such gorgeous bone structure, with high cheek bones and beautifully shaped lips. Even with an expression of worry, her face still exuded a strong sensuality. Her face emotes so much, that I constantly stare at and study this painting, and it is why I've used it as one of my online avatar for years. As you can see above in the additional images, even Spanish film poster artist Macario Gomez did his own color version, though Lesser's version is still far superior. The artwork is framed to museum standards.
