At Orb headquarters, Ken has been thriving in Aric's absence while away during the Unity conflict. Ken's artificial hand suddenly drags him out to a tree in the South lawn, under which Aric is hibernating. Ken takes Aric home, who after 1600 years in hibernation, is too weak to notice the Control Ring slip off his withered hand. Ken finds it wanting the Armor for himself, but he soon realizes that he is unworthy of the Armor. Ken returns the ring to Aric just as a Spider Alien's cadre attacks the house. And Aric stands to fight, finding the Armor has evolved a new look!

Aric knew Ken had the ring all along. He just wanted to see if Ken had the stones to use it. This is the first time Aric has worn the suit since hibernating after returning from unity to 396 B.C. and the X-O armor has evolved from its previous incarnation. Every 2000 years the armor grows a new seed.
