Description

I commissioned this piece from the artist by describing my thoughts around a recent trip I had taken to Egypt. Realizing that I had not ever seen Vampirella combined with any Ancient Egyptian relics or icons, I figured that images of Anubis, God of the Underworld and Dead, and of an Ankh symbol, which represents eternal life, would make perfect scene additions. Not sure why no one hadn't thought of this already. Ale drew Anubis as this giant dog-faced monster, apparently slain by a triumphant Vampirella holding a dagger in the form of an Ankh. Pretty killer. Size is 11 x 17 on Bristol board. He used coptic markers to add color and emphasize shading. A striking piece!
