Ernie / Piranha Club, September 26th 1993

This is absolutely my favourite Bud Grace's Sunday with Ernie's DeSoto (1957).What else can I say than DING, DING, DING... ;-) You don't have to have exactly that model in your garage, but any old vintage car with V8 or V12, and then you know the context ;-). and BTW if you use Google picture search with key word ernie desoto, this is normally the first hit there ;-)
I would say Ernie's DeSoto was one of the key "pillars" of success of this cartoon. And actually based on real life, it was Bud's friend Mike Fick having this DeSoto model 1957. They had many times hard times with it, but at least it offered inspiration for Ernie cartoons too ;-)

I read Bud Grace's cartoons 15+ years ago, in Finnish, and liked a lot them. But years passed, and many other things "took bandwidth". However, now when having better time for hobbies. And once I am collecting original cartoon and comic book artwork, hell, why not getting few of them too ;-) So, now it looks I am having the biggest private collection of Bud Grace's Ernie/Piranha Club originals. The rest has been archived in the Louvre (as the artist himself states... actually in the University of Ohio and some in in the cartoon bank in Lund). Anyway, here is few of my favorite what I picked among circa 1000 original ones, enjoy! ;-)
