Description
Sometimes (less and less these days unfortunately) you just get that perfect fit between writer, artist and storyline. For me, this was just one of those runs - Leinil Yu working the Bendis scripts over the Secret Invasion tie-in (before the rather lame ending).
I really think these fight scenes are about as good as it gets. So delighted to be able to own the original pencils for this.
Bought these pages about seven years ago, but had them sent to a friend in the US (eBay seller would only sell to North America which is their prerogative but still grrr...) and finally managed to meet up and have them delivered!
Definitely one of the finest interior pages in my collection.

Man oh man oh man!  This artwork/moment in comics history is so wonderful!  We are of a like mind-- I thought the leadup to Secret Invasion was KILLER (especially moments like this!); then the Secret Invasion conclusion was somewhat anticlimactic in comparison.  Also, when I originally read this story month-to-month as it was released, I was puzzled at Bendis' roster choices-- I thought, "Why not more cosmic powerhouses?"  Seeing this page, Bendis' roster choices are completely validated in my mind.  He made a superhero fight comic that pushed the boundaries of street-level action!

I absolutely agree with you and the good Doctor Fantastic; the creative team was perfectly suited to this awesome story that masterfully ratcheted up the tension leading into Secret Invasion.  Your DPS is glorious and beautiful; the detail is stunning, and the way Mr. Yu darkens all our heroes in the panels (so they stand out among the wall of ninjae behind them) is a master class in staging a fight scene (with Spidey jumping over the ninja, but in front of the top-down camera in panel 3...?  Are you kidding me?  SO cool... :) )

Awesome pick up and serious congrats.  Well worth the wait and deserving of your attention and affection!
