DescriptionINTRO (see below for content exclusive to this post):People who know me know that I love to collect in 'threes.' Tonight I am posting three consecutive covers from the 1990s Green Goblin series. This run of comics featured Phil Urich as the Green Goblin in a heroic capacity. THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE features the 1st appearance of the character Angelface, who along with her two henchwomen Salt & Pepper, launch a scheme to kidnap Liz Osborn and her son Normie. The Green Goblin arrives to thwart her plans, but the Goblin is ill-prepared for Angelface's superior fighting skills and she easily bowls him over (which is comically illustrated by this cover image/I like how the Goblin is knocked right into his own title logo). With the vigilante at her mercy, Angelface prepares to shoot him in the face when he starts unleashing his 'Lunatic Laugh.' This throws off her aim, causing Angelface to shoot a nearby steam pipe instead. As a result, a jet of scalding hot steam sprays in her face, causing serious burns. The searing pain takes all the fight out of Angelface who crumples into a ball on the ground. SOME BACKGROUND: Phil Urich has had quite a history in the Goblin-verse. He was the fourth, but very FIRST heroic, Green Goblin. His first few appearance as the Green Goblin were in 1995, in Web Of Spider-Man #125 and Spectacular Spider-Man #225. In ASM #649, he became the supervillainous Hobgoblin. He was later crowned the Goblin Knight (Superior Spider-Man #16) before dubbing himself the Goblin King (ASM vol 3 #5). Social/Sharing |

Love the McDaniel and love this cover with the interaction between characters and titles on the background. Something very used by Byrne in the past. Green & mean pick!
