Description

Colonia was my last long-running series (1998-2004). The first issue sold around 3,000 copies in the first year, to my surprise and delight, so I went bi-monthly with issue #2.
Here is a full page introduction of Teela the mermaid. I used Nina Persson (from The Cardigans) as a model for her face. You would never know it looking at any of the pages, but that’s what I did to try and anchor the character and keep her from looking like the lady pirates.
11X17 bristol.
