Description

Now something from one of my long-time favourites - Jeffrey Catherine Jones.
I simply love this - delicately hand-coloured by Jeff in watercolour over a fine line print reproduced from one of his original pen drawings. Even better seen first-hand you can appreciate the subtlety and fluency of Jeff�s ability with watercolour. This piece is numbered 47/52 and signed in pencil with Jeff�s familiar initial.
It was created in 1995 as a special extra to be included in a proposed super-deluxe edition of �Age of Innocence�, limited to 52 copies, but only 26 copies of this ultra-limited book were ever produced. Recently the publisher, Tim Underwood, released for sale the remaining 26 loose copies of the hand-coloured print and that�s when I acquired my copy.

Cool piece! I was too late to jump on it when Jeffrey was doing watercolors on various prints on her site for a silly low number-I think it was 100 dollars-and someone got a watercolor version of a piece I commissioned that I would love to track down!

Very cool! I wonder if this is larger or smaller than the hand-colored "Ivy" print he did for Stabur Graphics years back?

Thanks for your comments Steve. I can't comment on any other examples but this piece is on a 9" x 12" textured sheet with the image measuring approx. 7.5" x 5.25", and slightly offset towards the top right corner. I've taken the liberty of cropping it so the coloured image is more visible on the CAF thumbnails page.
