Classic Beetle Bailey. Interesting tidbit. I found this on eBay, but the seller had it dated at January 14, 1972. But, in 1972, January 14 was a Friday. So, we had a mystery. Was it unpublished? The seller didn't know. After conferring with some of our esteemed strip experts, I found it was very common to use the prior year's copyright strip in January till the new ones showed up.

Then, a quick subscription to newspaper.com to prove that indeed, the strip was published on Sunday January 14, 1973 (1972 was a leap year).

How did I know it was a Friday in 1972? Well, I looked it up obviously. But, the reason I looked it up is that January 14 is my birthday and the math didn't work out to make 1972 a Sunday.

So, all's well that ends in my collection!!
