Swan, Curt & Anderson, Murphy - Superman #242 page 04

There was a long period after George Klein left DC for Marvel that DC had a hard time matching an inker suited to Curt Swan pencils. With Julius Schwartz taking on the editorial reins for the character, he brought along with him long-time staffer, Murphy Anderson.

Here is Murphy Anderson inking Curt Swan in the epic `Sand Superman` story-line.

Slowly, I am gathering up pages from the "Sand Superman" story arc. Jimmy Olsen finds Superman's weakened and injured body in a junk yard, where a paper-created Chinese monster inhabited by a spirit from the Quarrm dimension dragged him. Jimmy has the doctors operate on Superman's head injury while two criminals try to take advantage of the monster's abilities.
