Description
Original art page from Fantastic Four #296, published by Marvel Comics in November 1986. This is Pg. 45, and is a stunning, awesome page with artwork by the brilliant Marc Silvestri. This was the classic special giant-sized Marvel 25th Anniversary issue, celebrating a quarter century since FF #1, which essentially started the creation of the entire Marvel Universe, and led to the introduction of Spiderman, the X-Men, the Hulk, and so many other classic characters and teams. This special issue featured the FF once again taking on The Mole Man, their first villain, in a story that Stan Lee scripted, returning to the title he started. The issue featured a combination of great artists doing sets of pages from the story, and this is from Silvestri's great run, one of the best pages artistically in the entire issue. It features Reed Richards warning of the terrible consequences of The Mole Man's deadly plan, and a horrifying depiction of The Human Torch having been turned into a monster by The Mole Man, who now for the first time begins to understand just what his friend Ben Grimm has felt like as The Thing. A truly stunning page from a classic memorable issue, that was so momentous Stan The Man returned to do the script work! Silvestri is a legendary Modern Age artist, known for classic work on so many characters and titles, including Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men, Cyber Force, The Darkness, Witchblade, Spawn, Conan the Barbarian, Batman, and so many others for Marvel, DC, Top Cow, and Image Comics. Don't miss out on a chance to get an awesome historic piece that would look amazing framed and prominently displayed, and would be an outstanding addition to any collection.
