I have so many great memories of NYCC, but I couldn't face the lines, crowds, and disorganization without some combination of the Hedges/Esposito clan -- Amy, Joe, and Mike. At the 2010 convention, a clear highlight was watching Valentine De Landro create these two sketches. The use of negative space in the Rictor piece is especially striking. As I recall, the Shatterstar sketch was finished so late in the day that we had to sprint to catch our train. Good times.
