DescriptionI fell in love with Nick's art when he was doing Guardians of the Galaxy a few years back. This instilled an association of "Cosmic" Marvel and his art so I ended up going with Phoenix Jean. I also paired with this an Emma Frost from the same show that hopefully I'll get around to uploading.Nick did a fantastic job as usual! I remember a couple years ago he told me he was nervous about doing colors at a convention and this piece shows he has nothing to be nervous about. The wondrous rendering of the shine on the boots and gloves is astonishing. The way the belt flows and the hair going everywhere really adds an element of motion that I admire. One detail that really eluded me until I took a closer look, is that Nick added pupils in the eyes filled with power. It is an incredibly small area but Nick managed to do delicate work in there and I am very impressed. In fact, I went back to a previous commission and Nick had done the same in that piece and I never noticed. Nick really captured the Phoenix traversing the dark outer reaches of space! Really glad I was able to get on Nick's list and had the opportunity to sit and speak with him for the 3rd or 4th time. Nick is always a pleasure and creates amazing art! Great job. how long was his list. Should I hit him first if he comes to the area?

I was on his list the first day of the show, I was maybe 2nd or 3rd in line. It did fill up pretty quickly but he takes more on the following days based on how many he gets down that night. He also had some pre-made blanks done. I really recommend Nick, he's done 3 or 4 pieces for me and they've all been great.

An oustanding commission and really taken over the top by the colors! I think is my favorite version of Jean Grey/Phoenix’s costume largely due to the design but also because of that great juxtaposition of the flat green and shiny yellow against her red hair. And man, did Nick showcase that beatifully here! Sincere congrats!
