"Crusaders on Crutches" : Alan Patrick

I've stated on numerous occasions that part of the fun of Common Elements (and commission collecting in general, but Common Elements in a unique way) is not knowing in advance what each artist will do with the disparate characters they've been assigned. It's especially cool when the artist comes up with a scenario that I never would have envisioned.

Case in point: Alan Patrick's design of this scene pairing Silhouette of the New Warriors with Captain Marvel Jr. (or is he Shazam Jr. now? -- I haven't been keeping up with the latest developments). Alan not only came up with the brilliant idea of incorporating the moment of Freddy Freeman's transformation into the Little Blue Cheese, but also depicted that transformation in a manner that I've never seen done in quite this way.

Thanks to Dave Wilkins of Jade Giant Comic Art for expertly managing this commission. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience, or the resulting art.
