Description

Mar-Vell of the Kree battles Aakon invaders. I loved the classic space-costume and Gene Colan + Don Heck's art in the first issues ("Marvel Superheroes" #12+13, then "Captain Marvel" #1-9 and #16(Heck), although the Stan Lee, Arnold Drake, etc.. written stories were extremely lame compared to other Marvel titles in that period, the new costume (blue,red,"star")was created in issue 16, the stories got much better with Roy Thomas + Gil Kane took over with #17, then Jim Starlin with #25 in 1973). And a nice alien battle page is always a joy to behold, by Odin's bristling beard ! Look up my other Don Heck + Gene Colan Captain Marvel pages if you like what you see here !

Great action scene! Love the early costume. Is this really Heck or Colan or a collaboration between the two?

These early Captain Marvel stories are always a delight for me too. And then there's great action here. What more could you ask for? :-)
