I’m so excited to own this piece. For me this is one of the ultimate classic Galactus covers.. With a fully characterized image of Galactus paired with death, we know who and what Galactus is about before even opening the book. John Byrne made only 2 Galactus Covers during his multi year run on the FF title, so it’s super special to have 1 of those 2.

Galactus is one of my top favorite characters in the marvel universe..let’s hope when Disney brings him to the MCU they do his Majestic Cosmic power level and image justice.

A big thanks to Dan Pottick for working out this deal with me. One of the beauties of CAF is when we get to know people we know truly how and when a piece means something strongly to the other. It always means more to know we are moving a piece to someone who truly loves it. And Dan got to know that this piece would be such a thing for me,

Back to the book. Marvel and Byrne really stepped it up here with this issue furthering the development of the cosmic character of Galactus by both making him more human, showing his humanity in a sense, and his own inner conflicts about his life path..All the while showing his journey to accepting once again his path as the devourer of worlds and knowing that him being alive and choosing life is an important part of the Galactic scheme of things..Much like we are each challenged to do in our own lives when we reached these points of why are we really here, connecting with our own importance in the scheme of life..And after Galactus has this all important moment with the personification of Death he moves on to show why he is and should be one of the most feared natural forces of the universe by annihilating and consuming the Skrull home-world!

We’re further blessed by the shiny flaming nude hotness of Nova gracing this cover while the FF’s floating heads look on in horror at what might come from Galactus’s next meal.

In person the striking image of the largely rendered face of Galactus/Death is awesome. Byrne drew this piece from edge to edge increasing the visual impact.

Take it from Galactus —We must do what we must —Its our nature—and we are here cuz we are meant to be here—consume create and be your own cosmic force!

Thanks for the congrats James..yea been a while eh? Well indeed was building up to something cosmically strong. Nova flew in and visited me one night in her nude flaming glory and informed me Galactus was coming and to get ready..and so I did..even though at that moment a night with Nova was all the hotness I ever wanted..

A very striking cover!  I've seen it in person a number of times when Dan owned it - it's large art size, right?  I'm surprised he let it go - congrats!
