Description

Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith Archie's Double Digest #172 Cover Original Art (Archie Comics, 2006). Leave it to material girl Veronica Lodge to figure out how to commercialize a Tarot reading. A classic example of Goldberg's strategic evolution of the Archie characters, from an extended period during which the artist gave the faces a slightly simian aspect. Solid radial composition, calculated to make the digest-sized finished product stand out with a cinematic forced perspective. Signed by both artists, with an additional red-ink signature from Goldberg. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, 10.5" x 14". Excellent condition.
