Description
For those that are interested I brought the page to show to Jerry at
ComicCon back in 04.

He told me that the backgrounds were done by George Russo, and that
it is definitely his (Jerry's) Batman, but he thought that some of
the work was actually penciled by Bob Kane. He said the figure in
the lower left hand corner had Bob all over it. He said the gesture
of the hand was something that Kane did often and he used to tease
him about it.

He also said that it was customary for them to pass the pages around
the studio to make deadline in those days. The inscription on the
bottom of the page is to Joe from AllStar, (Hi Joe!) the previous
owner of the art.

Jerry talked to me for quite some time about the page. I have to say
it was one of the more memorable and informative conversations I have
had with an artist.

RIP, Jerry.

Wow, wonderful GA Batman by the classic team! Fun early touches, like Bats 'grieving' Robin, 40's gangsters, and Bruce Wayne finding his tips in the newspaper. Thanks for posting!
