DescriptionEditorial cartoonist, illustrator and comic artist Ricardo Manelli is someone who's work I have been looking at for many years. He takes and unapologetic yet sympathetic approach to his subjects and imbibes them with personality and unflattering reality. They are real in the sense of being older, wrinkled, heavier, tired, used, worn and in that honesty comes the beauty of his work. Although I have seen a few comic pages, most of the art of Manelli I know are nude illustrations and I found this particularly nice one at Lucca this year.Social/Sharing |
