Description

I've always said good things come to those who wait (and live long enough ;-) - this is one of the covers on my "Wanted" list, and could not convince the owner to part with it for years. Finally, he agreed to a trade. Had to give up a cover and a Byrne Captain America page with Baron Blood (which was a very tough decision), but the legacy of this cover, with sooooooo many signatures, of the highlights include but not limited to Jerry and and Joanne Siegel and Steve Ditko, Ray Bradbury, Mark Hamill, Alan Moore, Gray Morrow, Ben Bova, Jack Kirby, Gil Kane, Forry Ackerman, Walt Simonson, Bob Burden, Joe Kubert, John Byrne, Curt Swan, Mike Kaluta, Jim Shooter, and dozens (maybe hundreds) more, is just priceless! All art is one of a kind, but there will NEVER be a piece like this again!

Thanks Michael Lovitz for doing the trade!

More info:

This book was first published on June 13, 1985.

The Earth-One Julie Schwartz is credited with "creating" comic book versions of Superman (Ultra-Man), Batman (Night Wizard), Wonder Woman (Madame Miracle) and Flash (Jet Jordan) shortly before they actually appeared. This seems to ignore the fact that the Jay Garrick comics had to predate those with Jet Jordan by at least 20 years.
Crediting Earth-One Julie Schwartz with these characters raises question of what happened to the Earth-One versions of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (Superman; 1938); Bob Kane and Bill Finger (Batman; 1939); and William Moulton Marston (Wonder Woman; 1942).
As stated by Perry White, Olaf was the name of a person from the United States Naval Intelligence who didn't want Julius Schwartz to publish a story about an atomic bomb. Julie's story of the atomic bomb predated the actual known existance of an atomic bomb.
Dick Giordano, Paul Levitz and Bob Rozakis credited as aided and abetted by.

Love this from a historical perspective! Also, a Giordano cover is never a bad thing.

I was going to make a wise crack about how it would be a good piece, if it weren't for the fact that someone wrote all over it, but that would be low...even for me.  So I won't write that!

There really isn't enough to say about how wonderful this is.  You are very lucky to own this truly terrific piece of not only DC Comics history, but comics history overall.

Congratulations.

This is something quite impressive and made me pause for quite some time.  I've never seen its equal.  A really special piece.
