Description

This is Dave Hoover at his absolute best. It is a vintage piece as evidenced by his signature being inside the ovaloid. Pieces like this are the reason "Hoover" is one of my favorite search words on Ebay. I really lucked out getting this one.

There is at least one other collector who believes he has the original of this one. My guess is that Dave Hoover made one or more prints of this. I examined mine under a magnifying glass. Without the glass I can see that my image is on the back of a commercial comic book board, complete with blue lines, labels and the like. In mine, the halftones have their dark parts following the grain of the paper with the high parts being dark and the valleys being uninked, something that wouldn't happen with a print. Furthermore, the other alleged original is signed in big letters and dated in the blank area below BC's legs, an unnecessary act if it was the original since it is already signed in the lower right.

This is a great Hoover!! Wonderful artist to have in your collectoin. Works fast, litttle problems with getting on his list, and always does a quality sketch for you. What's not to love.

Wow! I can't believe I missed this beauty my last time in your gallery. You are so lucky to have an early Hoover like this! I think your competitor must've removed his print since I can't find it anywhere. Must be memorex! You got the real deal here Rob...congrats.
