JAMES MONTGOMERY FLAGG Liberty Magazine Illustration

A beautiful illustration by one of the all-time greats, James Montgomery Flagg. This was published in Liberty Magazine around 1930. Whether using pen & ink or paint, Flagg's confidence with materials is always evident... and very impressive. I got this in an auction a couple of years ago. I had been bidding on a pen & ink drawing, but shifted my attention to this painting after the pen & ink price climbed too high. I am really glad that I lost out on the pen & ink one- seeing them both in person when I picked it up, I liked this one a lot better and it was half the price!
