Description

It's a new year and it's time to introduce a new Lian Harper and for me to finally get nanihoo to design someone from Earth-27C.

This is Earth-27C's Willow Harper, the next Lian counterpart. On 27C, her parents are still Roy Harper and Jade Nguyen only this time both are heroic individuals. Going by the handles Feathertop and Glass Cat, the two were members of the Shadow Hunters which are based on Deathstroke's bastard Titans. Instead of an archer, Willow's a Supergirl-esque character.

Willow's home life went through a nasty patch after Roy lost an arm and was blinded in one eye during a mission. His PTSD caused a strain on his marriage and for a time he and Jade separated. Willow started getting neglected at home, going to school in dirty clothes and without lunch. Her grades were slipping and she was getting bullied. Until one day Willow finally put her foot down and demanded her parents work out their issues because of what Roy's trauma was doing to their lives.

Unfortunately this didn't stop the bullying at school, and Willow found herself getting dragged into one of the sick games of the Academy of Night. Some of Willow's tormentors were receiving superpowers from the likes of Charity and Morning Glory, two who weed out potential supervillains by giving out powers and letting them kill each other. Willow beat them at their own game when she took one of their empowering totems and became Wildflower, bringing it upon herself to stomp out any other bullying and potential abuse of power by turning into the tyrant of her school.

Willow develops a small, devoted group of friends who're also kid heroes such as Pointer, Trinculo's Daughter, Zap, and Moray.

This entire arc and Wildflower's design are based directly off of Yukari Sakaki's arc in "Higanbana no Saku Yoru Ni," which explored how to deal with school bullying.

I was really impressed with how well nanihoo captured the exact image I wanted for Wildflower's costume. I specified it needed to look homemade, and the dark blues being the dominant color are meant to invoke a theme with the other Lians of Universe-27, Lian Nguyen and Sunbeam and Greymalkin.
