DescriptionReceived the very sad news from my friend and brother Jonathan Mueller that his dear grandmother (our beloved Nana) passed last night. It would be impossible to express what she meant to Jonathan. But I can tell you what she meant to me.
Each year on my birthday, I could always expect a card or a phone call. And if I missed her call, she would always leave a message by singing Happy Birthday to me. It's hard to imagine how someone you only saw once a year could make you feel so loved. But she did. My life was richer for having been touched by that love. And I will miss her for the rest of my days, until we see each other again. Rest in peace Nana. I love you. Social/Sharing |

No no no, I'm so pained to read this. I will take this beautiful memory of our meeting with me. Beautiful person she was!

And then there are families that can't be bothered to act like families at all. You posted a story that moved me this morning, and I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you were very lucky to know Nana.

DAMN YOU ERIC! I mean that in the nicest way possible. Here I am 48 hours away from her departure, trying to distract my self with some strategically placed graphite/ink/colored scribbles on ground up tree pulp, and what do I find on the most commented list; but a picture of my grandmother and I from one of her hair appointments I took her to. Thank you for sharing her impact on you. It touched me deeply.

My friend, it was the very least I could do to honor her memory. I told you I was sharing your broken heart and I meant it. I'm here if you need anything. Love you bro!
