Description

To go where no EC has gone before! Chris Kohler reinterpreted Neal Adams' cover artwork from STAR*REACH #2 along with the trade dress from INCREDIBLE SCIENCE FICTION.

This is #4 of 4 "non-EC artists with EC trade dress" commissions that Chris did for me.

There was no INCREDIBLE SCIENCE FICTION #34, so this was our approximation of how it might exist. The reinterpretation is 18" x 24".

This piece was a little more experimental since a lot of the information on Adams' original piece was color... so Chris used some license in replicating it in ink. The evil-looking face on Adams' original was done in what looks like pastel on a dark ground, so Chris tried to approximate it with cross-hatching to get a similar effect in ink. Chris did a double layer of black to make it dense and shiny. He used white paint for the stars.
