The Rawhide Kid! I just loved the Western comics. I have wonderful memories from my grandfather reading these and the DC war books. I saw this splash with the kid in all black, and I just couldn�t stop myself!

LOVE Kirby/Ayers on the Rawhide Kid. Seemed like Kirby's art in this series was especially dense and populated--very lived-in, as you can see in this splash. Great stuff!

I too love the Marvel westerns when I was a kid, especially this particular Kid. Kirby had such a wonderful way of handling western-type folks, and Ayers' inking on this exampe is particularly good. A knock-out of a page. Big congrats, Ron!
