Kent Shakespeare by
Gene Gonzales and
Simon Gough
Gene Gonzales has drawn Kent Shakespeare many times before, even once before for me, and each time it looks great. But I think that this may be my favorite Kent commission ever! I asked Gene to draw Kent in his star pattern shirt, and told Gene that the jacket was optional. So Gene drew the jacket, but didn't have Kent wearing it! Some foolish villain has decided to shoot Kent, and it messed up his jacket. Now Kent is gonna have to mess up the villain. I love how Gene drew Kent's clothes here, from the damaged jacket to all those folds in his pants. And that look on Kent's face tells you exactly what he's about to do to whoever shot at him. Simon Gough then added some gorgeous colors, as he always does. I love the orange burning effects and the orange signatures! And that slight tint change in Kent's glasses is just one of those minor details I love to see when Simon colors commissions for me. Both Simon and Gene are the best!
