Description

This is Jason Fabok's cover to Batman: The Merciless, one of the seven Batman one-shots tied in with the Dark Nights: Metal event series, each focusing on a different origin story for one of the seven evil versions of the Dark Knight in the Dark Multiverse who have been gathered together to destroy the primary DC Earth. Fabok illustrated strong covers for all of the one-shots, and five of the others are also offered in this same auction, each sold separately.

On this Earth in the Dark Mutltiverse, Ares, the God of War, is able to amplify his powers a hundred fold. Batman and Wonder Woman team-up to battle him for two long years, falling in love along the way. Then thinking Ares has killed Diana, Batman kills Ares and takes his helmet, a source of great power which messes up Bruce's mind. When Wonder Woman turns up alive, she tries to get Batman to remove the helmet but he gives into the dark side and kills her rather than give up the power.

The art has an image area of approximately 11" x 16".
