Description

This Captain Marvel painting was the first original art that I ever bought. Marvel's pose is from the cover of Captain Marvel (vol. 1) #26, 1973. I picked it up at a flea market in Monteagle, TN, back in the mid-70's. The artist had a few rows of art of various heroes set up and I picked this one. I have no idea who the artist was and I never saw him again. Young me thought that they were pretty cool and I wished that I had bought more. I still like it and the colors are much brighter in person. Side note: I also picked up a copy of Silver Surfer #14 at that flea market for probably $1 or less (which I still own). Side note 2: My mom probably gave me the couple dollars to buy the art and the comic since I doubt I had much of my own money at that age :)
