Description

Here's a lovely piece of Dan Dare Exhibition Art that I obtained online a few months ago.

After much research, including forum discussion with ones responsible for staging & attending the 1990 event at the Atkinson Art Gallery in town of Southport, Merseyside, N.W England, am led to believe this was a concept drawing for the event that was held in September of that year.

See the side-by-side page image comparison. Both are virtually identical apart for some subtle differences in graphic & text size, placement etc....

Obviously noticeable to the eye is the speech bubble that reads on my page: "Set course For Home Digby", whereas on the event poster says: "Set Course For Southport Digby". And in the area showing the Mekon riding the vehicle with two soldiers riding pillion scene, but besides other small variations the art is strikingly similar.
