From then on, he stands as a figure of cold retribution. Criminals beware - the guilty caught in this spider's web will be PUNISHED. But will Parker stand triumphant… or shattered by this twist of fate? The friendly neighborhood takes a different turn in this adventure, positing a very different sense of responsibility for the man who will be known as THE PUNISHER, as his battles against villains like the GREEN GOBLIN take a new path! This isn't the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man you grew up with, that's for sure! He's more like Bruce Wayne as Batman, seeking revenge for a Death in the Family!

The detail work Chris Stevens put into this piece is RIDICULOUS! In person it is STUNNING!

Laser-guided web shooters and the punisher skull on Spiderman's chest may be one of the coolest things I've seen. That is an amazing What If...? cover!

Stylistically, as different from Zeck as you can get. But a great concept and wonderfully executed. Pays tribute to the original yet stands on it's own as a very striking and powerful image.
