Description
George Wunder Terry and the Pirates Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-3-70 (New York News Inc., 1970). Bold Horse faces interrogation in this daily by Wunder, who took over the popular strip when creator Milton Caniff left. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 21.75" x 6.5". The toned board has tape along the top edge, with residue and an abrasion at the top left. Text correction paste-ups in the first panel, with staining and handling wear.

In mid 1962 former EC Comics and Classics Illustrated artist George Evans came on board as Wunder's assistant on the daily strip. As Evans related in an interview in The Comics Journal #177 (May 1995), "George would lay out the strip, pencil and ink the characters's heads, and I would finish the strip." - George Wunder Wikipedia entry
