Description

This should, by rights, have been the first ever sketch of Tim Drake's revamped Robin costume. The fact he would be gettting a new costume had been announced at UKCAC 1990, and this was the first sketch session Norm had done after it, and so far no one else had asked for a sketch of the new design. I was next in the queue and was all set to ask for the sketch when an unbelievably obnoxious European fan pushed in front and shoved his pad down and asked for a sketch of Robin.

Perhaps just to get shot of him, Norm did the sketch but acknowledged that this was the first time he'd ever drawn it for a punter. And then it was my turn... so close... Sigh....

Never mind. You can see minor differences from the end result as Norm was still getting the design straight in his own head and had no reference material to hand.

Such is life... Great sketch though, no?
