Jack Kirby & The Thing by Joe Sinnott

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, I was fortunate enough to have Joe Sinnott draw something. After some thought I chose his pal Jack "King" Kirby. The result? Since I've heard Smokin Joe was a baseball fan, what can I say other than it was a homerun! He knocked it out the park! As a bonus, although I didn't ask him to draw the Thing he did a crack job of it too!

Something told me there was a more than just a passing resemblance between Thing and the King, which was later confirmed when I heard a rumor that Jack most closely related to and enjoyed drawing The Thing more than any of the other FF character, possibly more than any other of his hundreds of other creations.

Mr. Sinnott passed away back in June, last Friday would have been his 94th birthday. Happy belated birthday Joe, Rest easy and thank you for all the stories you gave us. You are sorely missed.
