DescriptionHarold DeLay was an illustrator who spent the majority of his illustration career in the Chicago area. His career as a book illustrator seems to have started around 1897, and he began contributing to magazines around 1905. For over 30 years, he provided illustrations for the Chicago-based 10 Story Book and later worked for its sister publication, the pulp Golden Fleece. Although he also did some comic work in the late 1930's and early 1940's, to the extent he's remembered today, it's probably for the work he did for Weird Tales from the mid-1930's to mid-1940's.Here's an illustration by him which I picked up a few years ago. To date I've been unable to figure out if this was published anywhere. If anyone happens to know if it was published, please let me know! Social/Sharing |

Wow, love the pen work ... sketchy but still very much controlled. Hope you can find out how the piece was utilized.
