Good grief !

Haha!  Great reaction.  Yeah, I really miss Mike's prices from the 80's.  I remember so many instances of bumping into him at San Diego during these years and he was so discouraged by his art sales.  I remember one time going through his stuff and finding this really nice pinup.  I asked him how much he wanted for it and he asked me if $50 was too much.  Another time, he actually sat down next to me while I was giving my feet a rest and he had almost the entire interior story of the Doctor Doom & Doctor Strange graphic novel.  He was pretty bummed that no one was buying them and he joked about going home and throwing them on the fire.  While I'm not a big Hellboy fan, I was so happy that he finally achieved the fame he deserved for all his years of toiling in the trenches.

This one really hurts.

Even though I wasn't a big DC fan, I really loved the covers Mike did for Phantom Stranger and Spectre.  I was lucky to get my favorite ones from both runs.  Even luckier that I didn't have to pay current Mignola prices.  So while this does hurt a bit, not as much as if I didn't already have my favorite Phantom Stranger cover.
