DescriptionFirst, let me apologize in advance for the pain I am about to inflict on all of you. Especially if you are the current or former owner of any of these pieces. I figured since I have a near complete set of Mitch’s old mail order catalogs, it might be “fun” (if not masochistic) to take a stroll down memory lane. But take heart. For even though most (if not all) of these posts will be almost unbearable and cringe worthy to many of you, just remember that 20-30 years from now, these will be the “good old days” to some new collector just starting out.
What is very interesting to note here is that during this 9-year span of catalogs (1984-1993), there is nothing here that is priced over (or anywhere near) $1000. Actually (with the exception of the Killing Joke page), nothing even breaks the $500 range. Absolutely incredible for pieces that could all easily be five figures (or more) today! By the way, I’ve got dozens and dozens of these. So I’ll be posting them in chunks from time to time (to prolong the torture). Social/Sharing |

Oh, I don't think you're an idiot at all...compared to me!!!
One day, I'll tell about the time in 2001 when I passed on not one, but two Bolland Killing Joke pages AND the splash page. Not to mention Wonder Woman covers, a Flash cover, and a few Green Lantern covers. If only I could find a way to kick myself for being so stupid!

Why don't we call it a tie? Although with visual aids, I can probably claim the title if you could see images of everytning I've passed on in my 40 years of collecting. As far as kicking ourselves, maybe we could just take turns kicking each other. Of course there are probably all kinds of ways people can misconstrue that. LOL!

Tell that to anyone who watches contact sports. Lol. They are booing or cheering as they support one side or the others pain of defeat or euphoria of victory. So, should I cheer for you or your opponent as you are kicking each other, likely over possession of a piece of comic artwork? See you art ringside or art pitchside. Lol.

I guess you're right. Sport IS a from of torture in a lot of ways. Especially when you have undying loyalty to a really horrible team. LOL! Ringside? That's funny. Just trying to picture Yoram and I inside a ring taking turns kicking each other. Haha! Wait, maybe I can make a little money if I sell tickets. Better yet, TV broadcast rights! I'll be rich! LOL
