DescriptionGeorge Tuska recreated the cover of X-MEN #39 for me, a commission completed in May 2006 by Geroge Tuska, at age 90. George Tuska was the original artist of the cover of X-MEN #39 in 1967 (almost 40 years ago!) which was the "New Costumes!" issue that debuted Marvel Girl's popular 60's green mini skirt and gold mask costume... the 1st appearance of that costume! I'm not sure if George Tuska designed or created the costumes, but this cover was the first time the public got to see the costumes and it was also the 1st cover that George Tuska did for The X-Men. The scan is incomplete (it's the main portion that fit on my scanner), and George Tuska did all of the logos and lettering by hand on this commissioned cover recreation for me! It's true and faithful to the original.Social/Sharing |

Very nice recreation. After all these years, Tuska is still a great artist. Cool to see you were able to get a commission of Marvel Girl by the first artist to ever draw her in her green miniskirt costume.
