Hank Porter - "Moose" RCAF Wireless Station Patricia Bay World War II Insignia Preliminary Art (Walt Disney, c. March 1943) A decidedly Disney moose is the mascot in this Hank Porter original insignia design for the RAF Air Force Wireless Section. The wireless operator was responsible for sending and receiving wireless signals during a flight. Disney Publicity Art department staff artist Hank Porter (1900 - 1951) was the one Walt Disney preferred to handle insignia requests, and his output was amazing, creating many memorable designs based on Disney cartoon characters, both major and minor. Art on the moose is in graphite and color pencils on a scrap of onionskin paper measuring approximately 7" x 6". Minor handling wear, with small area of red over the moose's head. Very Good condition.
