DescriptionI bought this in the early days of Ebay before comic art went crazy. The thing that makes this page special is that I got it signed myself by Carmine at SDCC, 2000? I was at the All Star auctions booth with Joe and Nadia Mannarino (awesome awesome couple), Carmine came over to watch the booth for them so they could check out some things and make a deal (probably buying an Action 1). In those days they would have Frazetta paintings and lots of high end items. So I stayed and hung out with Carmine until they got back to help him keep an eye on things.I got to talk to him for a while and he signed this for me personally so it’s a reminder of the time I spent with him. I loved his early DC silver age art especially the Flash. I got invited to the DC offices by my friend Joey Cavalieri where I met everyone there and he might have been there again. The highlight that day was meeting Julius Schwartz (DC’s version of Stan Lee) there which was amazing as well. Joey is great as well once I spent time with him doing portfolio reviews and established creators would come over to show him unpublished stories and pitch him. It was so much easier to meet and get to know creators before. Social/Sharing |
